Joby Aviation is a United States venture-backed aviation company, developing an electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft that it intends to operate as an air taxi service.

Joby Aviation has agreed with private jet operator Clay Lacy Aviation to install its first electric aircraft charging station in Southern California. This charging infrastructure is part of a $100 million redevelopment project planned for Clay Lacy's fixed-based operator terminal at John Wayne Airport in Orange County.

The charging station is designed to support the safe and efficient operation of electric aircraft, including Joby's own quiet and emissions-free air taxi. Joby's Global Electric Aviation Charging System (GEACS) is mentioned as the technology that will be used for this purpose. The GEACS is already in use at Edwards Air Force Base near Los Angeles and at Joby Aviation's pilot production facility in Marina, California.

This development represents a step forward in the infrastructure needed to support the emerging electric aviation industry, particularly for urban air mobility solutions like Joby Aviation's eVTOL air taxis.
